Police say 50 people have been killed inside a Florida nightclub and at least 53 were injured.
Freedom Oklahoma says “The shooting in Orlando is absolutely tragic. Our thoughts and prayers go out to our sisters and brothers in Florida. This is a difficult time for our community; however we ask that everyone stand strong, be vigilant, and watch out for one another. We must not allow acts of violence or terrorism to intimidate us. As Oklahomans we understand as well as anyone how devastating attacks like this can be, but we can not allow fear to define us.”
Florida governor, Rick Scott, also released a statement after the shooting.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims, families and all those affected by this horrific tragedy. We are a strong and resilient state and we will devote every resource available to assist with the shooting in Orlando. Our state emergency operations center is also monitoring this tragic incident. I have been in constant communication with Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer, Orange County Mayor Teresa Jacobs and state and local law enforcement this morning. I would like to also thank all the first responders who quickly came to assist and help those in need.”
