The Masjid (mosque) Dar-Ul-Islam in Elizabeth operates out of a mansion built by Republican Congressman Charles Newell Fowler at the turn of last century. The grand Georgian colonial, with a pillared entrance, was once the administration building for the prestigious Vail-Deane School for girls for many decades. Now, it is the largest mosque in Elizabeth.
