MUSLIMS worldwide need to face the harsh reality that regardless of who wins the United States general election this November, the fate of the Palestinians will remain unchanged. The recent Republican National Convention (RNC) broadcast globally has made this evident. Many Republican politicians vocally expressed their unwavering support for Israel.

Donald J. Trump, the Republican leader, has repeatedly declared his full support for Israel. He also suggested that the US should allow Israel to continue its operations in the Gaza Strip, implying ongoing violence against the Palestinians.

The current US administration under Joe Biden also appears ineffective in ending Israeli aggression. Biden has approved arms shipments to Israel and continues to provide financial aid. Muslims should no longer place their hopes on the US.

The outcome of the US election should not concern Muslims. It is time for Muslims to dissociate from the US and other Western countries and stand independently to defend themselves.

The US has shown indifference to the plight of Muslims, as evidenced by the ongoing suffering of the Palestinians. For over 75 years, since the creation of Israel in 1948, Palestinians have endured brutality and oppression from Israelis. With continuous support from the US, Israel has perpetrated numerous acts of violence against Palestinians, including the illegal seizure of Palestinian lands.

There have been recent suggestions to relocate Palestinians from Gaza and the West Bank to other countries. Instead, Israelis should be the ones to relocate. Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank are already in their own land. It is the Israelis whose presence in the Middle East is unwelcome, especially by their neighbours. They should consider migrating to the US, given the deep love the US has for Israel.

The US has historically supported Israel. President Joe Biden’s promise to “stand with Israel” in the current Gaza conflict continues a relationship that dates back to 1948 when President Harry Truman was the first world leader to recognise the Jewish state. There’s even a kibbutz (settlement) named after Truman in Israel.

The US provides billions in military and financial support to Israel annually. Despite the crimes committed by Israel against Palestinians, the US will always stand with Israel.

Given the special fondness the US has for Israel, it should encourage Israelis to migrate there or allocate land within the US for Israel’s creation. The US is a large country with ample land to accommodate such migration, ensuring peace and security for Israelis and potentially ending the Middle East conflict, bringing lasting peace to Palestinians. – July 20, 2024
