Under the patronage of the Governor of Makkah Region, Prince Khalid bin Faisal bin Abdulaziz, the Deputy Governor of Makkah Region, Prince Saud bin Mishaal bin Abdulaziz, inaugurated the project.
The Saudi Minister of Transport and Logistics Services, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Ports Authority, Engineer Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser, attended the ceremony, in addition to the Chairman of the Authority, Omar bin Talal Hariri; the CEO of A.P. Moller – Maersk, Vincent Clerc; and other senior officials in the logistics sector.

With a value estimated at SAR 1.3bn, the Maersk Logistics Park extends over an area of 225,000 square meters and will offer integrated logistics solutions, including multi-modal connectivity between ocean, land and air transport; warehousing solutions tailored to B2B and e-commerce; and temperature-controlled warehousing.
Additionally, it will feature a design adaptable to various industries and sectors; and customs clearances, visibility solutions and control tower.
The Logistics Park will also include an in-house women’s academy that offers programs to empower women to work in the logistics and supply chain sector and ensure stronger diversity and inclusion.
Private Sector Investments
On this occasion, the Saudi Transport Minister noted that this logistics park is one of 11 logistics zones at the Jeddah Islamic Port to be launched with investments from the private sector.
He added that this comes as part of Mawani and the National Transport and Logistics System’s approach to develop logistics zones at Saudi ports in partnership with the private sector and local and international logistics companies to enhance logistics services and the operational capacity of Saudi ports.
Thriving Sector
Furthermore, Al-Jasser said: “The Saudi ports sector is witnessing major and unprecedented leaps, in terms of high operational performance efficiency, achieving records in international indicators, growing maritime navigation lines and increasing maritime connectivity with the countries of the world.”
“The Maersk Logistics Park at Jeddah Islamic Port will contribute to service and development in supporting economic activity in the Kingdom and providing highly efficient logistics services to support the movement of trade and export to foreign markets and enhance the work of supply chains and logistics,” he said.
Significant Milestone
On his part, Mawani’s Chairman, Omar bin Talal Hariri, praised the role of the Logistics Park in supporting the growth of logistics industry and promoting economic and developmental activity.
“These solutions work to connect and facilitate the supply chains, which contributes to achieving qualitative leaps in the operational performance of the ports and enhances the capabilities of the logistics sector and global trade movement,” Hariri said.
Similarly, the CEO of A.P. Moller – Maersk, Vincent Clerc, expressed his excitement about the new investment. He said: “The Maersk Logistics Park represents a significant milestone for Maersk. It is a testament to our commitment to be an enabler of global trade in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which sits strategically at the crossroads of three continents.”
“I am proud to see that our Logistics Park in Jeddah has become a living example of our integrated logistics strategy, supporting our customers with resilient logistics while implementing the right initiatives to take our de-carbonization journey forward,” he added.
